The story of the Delights Shop dates back to 1998 when a farm nestled in the low-laying strip of the Jordan Valley was born. Better known as the Progressive Agricultural Investment Company (PAI), the family farm was established to produce the large, sweet and succulent Medjool date, exclusively grown in the Jordan Valley.

Back in 1998, PAI was the first of its kind in Jordan as the only family farm capable of producing a Jordanian product that competes with any international market in terms of quality, price and packaging. When PAI began cultivating the Medjool date, there were around 600 trees planted throughout two of its plantations. Today, there are more than 9,800 date trees on over 1,000 dunums, with another 500 dunums to be added in the near future.  

PAI quickly became a pioneer in its field and realized that it was the ideal time to expand the business.  The Delights Company for Dates and Chocolates (former owner of The Home of Desert Delights) was established as a sister company to PAI to fulfill the potential of the Medjool date by pairing it with the luscious Belgian Chocolate Belcolade and packaging it for special occasions. The Delights Company for Dates and Chocolates cemented its position in the market as a renowned dates and chocolate factory, which paved the way for the launch of The Delights Shop.
